Carmen Wilkinson is a contemporary expressionist who lives in Mississippi. She has lived in Mississippi her entire life. She claims writing has always been her first love; however, she began painting in 2009. Her mission statement is : "God created us to Create". Prior to painting she said she had tried to paint throughout the years but was unable to do so. She prayed and asked God to give her the ability to paint. She bought some canvas and paints and was fixing to give up but on the third painting something clicked. She got into the right side of her brain and began to paint and has not slowed since. Since that time 2 years ago she has had many exhibits @ local libraries, has joined an art gallery in Natchez, MS, had a show @ the Studio of Art and Design in McComb, MS and attended festivals as well as taught three children some of the basics of painting. Mrs. Wilkinson enjoys allowing her own children to be creative and paint as well. Her youngest son often times paints while his mom does.
